Welcome to the City of Blackfoot

Blackfoot, Idaho is the county seat of Bingham County with a population of approximately 12,000 people. It is located almost directly in between two major Idaho cities, Pocatello and Idaho Falls.

Blackfoot is the "Potato Capital of the World", because it has the largest potato industry in the world. It is the site of the Idaho Potato Museum (a museum and gift shop that displays and explains the history of Idaho's potato industry), which has to the world's largest baked potato and potato chip.

Blackfoot is the location of the annual Eastern Idaho State Fair, which operates between Labor Day weekend and the following weekend.

The main attraction in Blackfoot in the summer months is Jensen’s Grove, which is the location for Blackfoot Pride Days.  It has two large park shelters and lots of picnic areas, a skate park, playground equipment, and a two mile walking path that goes around the Grove. Jensen’s Grove hosts many summer activities, including marathons/triathalons, swimming, boating, and jet skiing.

***Did you know?  . . . . . Blackfoot is mentioned in the song, “When Cowboys Didn’t Dance” by Lonestar as the destination of a cattle drive.
