In February 2019, the City of Blackfoot Council passed a subdivision Ordinance for tiny houses within City limits and, to the best of our knowledge, it is the first tiny house subdivision Ordinance in Idaho. Tiny houses provide a great benefit to communities by providing increased affordable housing and housing stock, they facilitate intergenerational living as well as attract new residents. Also, the addition of tiny homes in our community will provide an increase in municipal revenue, support vulnerable populations, and generally provide residents with more lifestyle freedom. The City is anxiously awaiting it's first tiny house subdivision!
