City of Blackfoot Local Limits

The following pollutant limits are established to protect against pass through and interference. Local Limits are evaluated annually to assess ability to protect treatment works. No person shall discharge wastewater containing in excess of the following daily maximum allowable discharge limits:

ParameterLimit
pH5.0 – 12.0 SU
Arsenic (As)0.03 mg/L
Cadmium (Cd)0.0372 mg/L
Chromium (Cr)0.7403 mg/L
Copper (Cu)0.6456 mg/L
Cyanide (CN)0.2835 mg/L
Lead (Pb)0.3372 mg/L
Mercury (Hg)0.008 mg/L
Nickel (Ni)0.6277 mg/L
Oil & Grease (Non-Polar)200 mg/L
Silver (Ag)0.43 mg/L
Zinc (Zn)Allocated to Industry in Permit By Mass Proportion Method

The above limits apply at the point where the wastewater is discharged to the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) (end of the pipe).  All concentrations for metallic substances are for "total" metal unless indicated otherwise.  The Superintendent may impose mass limitations in addition to (or in place of) the concentration-based limitations above.  Where a user is subject to a categorical pretreatment standard and a local limit for a given pollutant, the more stringent limit or applicable pretreatment standard shall apply.
