Thanks to the efforts of Officer Marvin 'Ray' Jewett and his wife, Valerie, the City of Blackfoot received donations from a number of local businesses to revitalize the City's Bike Patrol Program.  Officer Jewett, who previously worked as a School Resource Officer in the Las Vegas area, took it upon himself to seek out partnerships with Bingham Healthcare, Nonpareil, Idaho Central Credit Union, Bill's Bike Shop and Supdnik to secure funds to replace the Agency's current bikes, which are not only out dated, but in need of significant repair.  The donations of these community partners exceeded $20,000 and allowed for the purchase of two Specialized e-bikes and six full suspension Specialized mountain bikes.  The Bike Patrol, implemented for events such as Celebrate Blackfoot, the Eastern Idaho State Fair and Parade and other large outdoor gatherings, will be an asset to our Agency and the Community for many years to come.
