The Wall That Heals - Jensen Grove Closed

The City of Blackfoot’s Jensen Grove is very proud to be named as hosting venue to the Wall That Heals, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica and Mobile Education Center. This 375-ft. long Vietnam War memorial will arrive in Blackfoot during the afternoon of September 14, with the volunteers starting to erect the Wall on September 15. On September 16, at 6:30pm, we will have a patriotic program to formally open this display to honor and preserve the memory of those who served and those who died during and after the war, and to educate all generations about the lasting impact of the war.

In honor of the solemnity and quiet atmosphere that should be projected by the Vietnam War Memorial, the City of Blackfoot will close Jensen Grove to regular recreational activity during this memorial display. We ask the public’s support as we close Jensen Grove to boating, swimming, playground use, skate park, and shelter use during the Wall That Heals display September 16 at 6:00pm through September 19 at 2:00pm. Please contact Mayor Marc Carroll at 208-785-2756 if you have any questions.
